One-Day Knife-Making Workshop (2026)
Learn the traditional Japanese method of blade smithing in a one-day experience.
Service Description
Enjoy the traditional techniques of forging, grinding, and heat treatment during a one-day experience using modern knife steel (blue paper steel). Each class includes one pre-manufactured handle of your choice, or you can opt for a custom-made handle for an additional fee of 10,000 yen. Due to time restraints, knives are often finished and sharpened outside of the workshop and mailed out at a later date. The shipping fee is included in the price. Please note that tamahagane steel is not used unless specified in advance, and additional costs will apply. You cannot make Japanese swords during your workshop.
Cancellation Policy
You may cancel or reschedule your workshop up to 7 days before your booked date (Japan time) for a full refund. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 7 days before the workshop, as well as no-shows on the day, are charged 100 percent of the workshop fee with no refund.
